A farce with texts by Christoph Reinhardt and quotes from Peter Weiss, Heiner Müller, Zora Neale Hurston, Gilles Chatelet, and David Graeber.
What is he, the new man?
The one who appears after the revolution believed to be dead?
Is he a worm, a dwarf, a fascist, a student, a democrat, a fisherman, a househusband, a stone?
What is his sex life like, if he has one?
What does he think when he thinks?
The NIE Theater sends a small population of this creature, “The New Man,” into the city of Berlin. His name is Lancelot Mockingpott, and he settles into a comfortable life. But then, in broad daylight, he is beaten up by the police and thrown into prison.
He asks himself: Why me?
